Recently, we stabilized the PostgresSQL connector on Columns (using AWS instance for testing), the SQL editor stays simple but more reliable, you can write and execute any SQL statement to let Columns pull data from your database and continue the analysis/design based on the SQL result.

So now we think it's time to add another similar SQL connector, MySQL is a popular one, so expect to make this available soon!
